Physical Education over at OLA, covers all of the grades and even 3K and 4K.

 

For 3K and 4K, it's an introduction to Physical Education as they learn various locomotor movements like running, hopping, skipping, galloping, etc.  They will also be taught how to use various Physical Education equipment to work on various skills for tossing, throwing, catching, kicking, etc.

 

For Kindergarten through 2nd grade, they will be working on various locomotor (moving) skills and non-locomotor (stability) movements.  This is also the first group of grades that will be tested for various skills like dribbling (hands and feet), kicking, passing (hands and feet), tossing, throwing, catching, etc.  

 

For 3rd through 5th grade will be introduced to various team and individual sports/games as well as to be tested on certain skills from these sports.  Examples would be dribbling (hands and feet), kicking, passing (hands and feet), throwing, catching, etc.

 

For the middle school grades (6th-8th), they will be participating in numerous team and individual sports/games (soccer, flag football, ultimate frisbee, bowling, etc.) as well as engaging in life long fitness activities (Zumba, Yoga, Disc Golf, etc.)

 

 

 

Physical Education

Physical Education at OLA is offered for all grades...even 3K and 4K!!!

Grading

K-2nd = Participation (1 point).

 

3rd-5th = Participation (1 point).  This is the first group of grades that will receive a letter grade as well.

 

6th-8th = 3 daily points (Attendance, Gym Attire, and Participation).  They will also be graded on various assignments/tests from certain units.  The tests will always have a study guide so they will know what is expected on each test.
